The band often practiced there, setting up either in the living room, kitchen or on the front porch. Larry's grandparents were wonderfully tolerant and put up with the loud music without a single complaint. Friends and fans came from miles around to listen in during the practices, sometimes filling up the small rooms or the front yard. There were a couple of neighbor's houses within earshot of the practice site. I just recently learned that the children of Larry's grandparents' neighbors used to sit out in the back yard and listen in.
